A Home for Our Book Clubs

My Project

I feel so very fortunate that over the years, through library sales and donations and personal purchases, I have amassed a huge collection of books. Sadly, I could only afford very cheap bookcases.

Have you ever tried to use a bookcase that is made of particle board with the cardboard back falling off every time you shelved a book?

This is our reality. Without the cardboard back in place, the shelf weaves from side to side and I worry with every passing hour that it will finally crack and break. While it is true that I want to give my students some nice new bookshelves, the reality is that I NEED to give them new shelves. The ones I am currently using are not safe and are definitely not sturdy. Soon, the books will be packed in boxes when I have to finally send these to the trash and then the books won't be accessible to the students.

I appreciate your help as we try to replace the existing shelves with something sturdier and more durable. It is truly a blessing to have community donors helping us reach our goals.
