My Students

My students are amazing. I teach in a school in the suburbs of a city in Utah. I have a goal to help my students see their potential. I can't change the whole world but I can influence many students who can go out and change the world. I have students from many different walks of life. They are motivated and smart! They work hard to master their assignments.

Second graders have an eagerness to learn.

They have the desire to gain knowledge and improve their understanding of various subjects. Organization helps keep them on target and task!

My Project

My students are in need of many things due to the impact of Covid. Please help each child that enters my classroom to have new supplies to use. It is my goal to have each student feel like they have what they need to succeed. Covid mitigation restrictions have created the need for each student to have their own set of classroom supplies and resources. This helps with mitigating the spreading of germs and helps each child feel special so that they are healthy enough to attend in-person learning, as well as everything they need to access our curriculums. I strive to make learning engaging and this requires things like pencils, drawing supplies and places to store their materials like pencil boxes. Another resource that we have had to rely on more this year is our learning software for reading and math. New headphones would allow students to access this important tool and get the timely and specific feedback that will propel their learning.

As Covid has created new realities in our school, I have found that I need to support every layer of my students more and more than ever before, especially their social and emotional well being as well as helping us to understand others and their needs as well.

The books that I have requested funding for will support this learning goal. Being able to read about situations in books will help my students prepare how to handle them in their real lives.
