My Project

I am seeking funding to launch "Flashlight Friday," a partnered reading activity, . By providing a classroom set of small LED flashlights and the high-interest Who Would Win? book series, I aim to boost literacy engagement for all my learners. This project specifically targets reluctant readers who thrive when academic content is paired with a unique, exciting atmosphere.

The Who Would Win?

series is a classroom favorite because it uses scientific facts and animal adaptations to fuel critical thinking and debate. When paired with flashlights, these books become the center of a collaborative experience where partners "shed light" on new vocabulary and track text together. The flashlights act as a literal spotlight, helping students eliminate distractions and build the stamina needed for deep reading.

My goal is to foster a genuine love for nonfiction and cooperative learning. With these tools, my students will not only improve their reading fluency but also look forward to their literacy block as the highlight of their week. Your support will help me give my students a bright new perspective on reading that turns every page into a thrilling discovery.
