My Project

Every day, students enter the classroom carrying more than just their backpacks, they bring emotions, stress, and challenges that can impact their ability to learn. Our students are inquisitive, energetic learners with tremendous potential, but many are still developing essential self-regulation skills needed to manage emotions, maintain focus, and navigate social interactions. While they are eager to learn and connect, stress, anxiety, and attention challenges can sometimes interfere with their ability to fully engage in the classroom. Their resilience and determination to succeed, even when faced with challenges, make them truly deserving of meaningful support.

To address these needs, this project will provide classrooms with structured, engaging mindfulness resources that can be implemented in just 10 minutes a day.

The Classroom Yoga in 10 Minutes a Day workbook will serve as the foundation, offering a 16-week framework of simple, developmentally appropriate yoga and mindfulness activities for K–5 students. To enhance engagement and variety, Mindfulness Cards for Kids will provide quick, accessible exercises that promote calmness, focus, and emotional awareness. Additionally, Zenergy Solo Hand Chimes will be used as a gentle auditory signal to support transitions, center student attention, and create a calm, focused classroom environment.

Through guided breathing exercises, purposeful movement, and mindfulness practices, students will learn to regulate their bodies, improve focus, and develop healthy coping strategies. These activities will establish predictable routines that support smooth transitions, reduce disruptions, and increase time on task.

The goal of this project is to equip students with practical tools to manage their emotions and come to learning ready each day. A designated teacher from each grade level will implement the program and share insights during professional learning sessions to ensure consistent use and long-term impact across K–5 classrooms.
