Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher of first graders, I have learned that paper is a teaching essential! We do use tablets, and we use white boards. However, we also use paper. We need paper for drawing, writing, stories, journals, science projects (yes!), and anchor charts, (these are essential in the modern classroom). With most of my students coming from Spanish speaking backgrounds, paper is even more invaluable because I am able to illustrate things for them as they build their English vocabulary.

First graders also need special writing paper, with bolder lines, and wider spaces, which provide them with the room and confidence as they learn to write.

You can imagine how quickly we move through handwriting paper. As a teacher, we also need chart paper to create anchor charts, which hang on my walls to help my students, as they team together to achieve learning success over a myriad of topics. Chart paper is also used by students to create team projects in math, writing, reading, science, and even social studies.

Paper is so essential, and you can help us have what we need. Thank you so much for considering this project. It will go such a long way in my classroom, and even in my fellow teachers' classrooms. Thank you in advance!
