Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a new art teacher at a school that serves New American students, immigrant and refugee children who are learning English and adjusting to a new home.

With your help, I can transform an empty room into a vibrant art studio where every child feels seen, celebrated, and inspired to create.

This project will provide mirrors and self-portrait templates so students can see and celebrate themselves, skin-tone paint for accurate representation, and fun tools like dot markers, foam brushes, and paint scrapers for creative exploration.

Aprons will help protect clothing so students can work boldly. These supplies will turn our bare space into a welcoming place for expression, storytelling, and belonging.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
