Help me give my students learn to quiet their busy bodies by having assigned places on a carpet which can be used for community circles, small group instruction, as well as being a favorite place to read.
I teach in a Title I school with over 17 primary languages! Our students are learning about being good students, good friends, and good citizens of the world. Because of our vast diversity in our school, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to help each student to grow as much as they can and enjoy the process.
I feel grateful and proud to work in such an incredible community, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year.
This requested carpet will be beneficial in so many ways. First grade is a big year for transitions. So many of our students did not attend preschool or formal daycare settings, and in first grade they are still learning about how their bodies should be quiet and calm in order for them to be good students.
A classroom carpet with squares that can be assigned to each child will help my students have more control over their bodies and learn to share space.
We do not currently have a carpet that can fit my growing class size and my students can't all see each other when we get together for classroom meetings. A classroom carpet will be such a benefit to our classroom.
