This requested carpet will be beneficial in so many ways. First grade is a big year for transitions. So many of our students did not attend preschool or formal daycare settings, and in first grade they are still learning about how their bodies should be quiet and calm in order for them to be good students. A classroom carpet with squares that can be assigned to each child will help my students have more control over their bodies and learn to share space. We do not currently have a carpet that can fit my growing class size and my students can't all see each other when we get together for classroom meetings. A classroom carpet will be such a benefit to our classroom.
