Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In an ideal world, the majority of science learning will be done through inquiry-based activities and labs. However, we are limited by several things, such as time and resources.
All year long, my students asked for more hands-on activities and labs.
As a first-year teacher, I, unfortunately, didn't have much experience, time, or resources to be able to give the full laboratory experience I wish I was able to give to my students. With these microscopes/stereoscopes, my students will be able to become more familiar with different technologies and perform more labs. In particular, I am excited to do an APES air quality lab where students obtain their own samples and examine them under the stereoscope. Additional miscellaneous items will also provide more lab materials or visual models to improve the learning experience. My hope is that, through this project, I will be able to provide the experience my students, the future deserve. Thank you for your consideration!
