My Students

Our town is a small industrial town in Coastal Mississippi. My students are typically in grades 9-12 and learn anything from Mississippi history, Psychology and even state tested U.S. history in my class.

My students are curious, savvy, and energetic.

They want what works best for them, and due to the large low-income population in our town, they don't always get it. Despite many challenges, my students work hard to learn and thrive in school. Each is unique and learns in his or her own way. I want to give them options to learn at the optimal level.

My Project

Gardens require many tools to succeed. We have some tools but our garden is small. My students need a few more tools to make magic in our garden.

We are trying to build an environmentally sustainable school garden.

We have water barrels, however, we need a few more tools to make them as efficient as possible. Our garden club needs a long water hose, watering hose wand, and funnels to make the water barrels as effective as possible. When one catches rain with barrels, you save time, energy and provide the plants you love with non-chemically treated water. We also need a little more soil to grow with, please consider giving to our school garden!
