This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very socio-economically disadvantaged area of Houston and the pandemic has not made things easier. Our district provided both face-to-face and remote learning opportunities for our students last year.

With the return from virtual classes back to face-to-face instruction, engagement is now more important than ever!

My students are adjusting to school in a pandemic and some are adjusting to their first year back in the classroom in over a year and a half.

My Project

I just recently had a project funded that purchased a 3D printer for my classroom! My students are so excited to start designing and creating their projects but before we make anything, we need filament to actually make the 3D prints!

This supply of filament for my 3D printer will allow every student to print one of their designs this year!

As soon as I announced I was getting a printer, I heard several discussions about what they were going to design first...little do they know I already have a plan for them to design a Bohr model as we wrap up our Chemistry unit to show their mastery of the content! I can't wait to bring Chemistry to life for them in 3D!
