This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students range from grades 6 -8. I have approximately 20 scholars with disabilities. They are cross-categorical. Cleveland is a Title I school district and 100% of scholars receive free breakfast and lunch.
All of my students come from high poverty, and they are two or more grade levels behind their peers.
My scholars deal with many challenges they still want to learn and are engaged in using technology to prepare for career and college readiness in the future. Many of my scholars are interested in computer science and have experience in Minecraft which is 3D and is linked to making 3D models of anything.
Integrating 3D modeling with my social studies and science curriculum will give my scholars the opportunity to create and visualize solid models of ancient civilizations and create 3D cell models and the earth's core.
Making technology a tangible experience will bring to life 3D models for my scholars, even those who lack the confidence and/or enthusiasm for the subject of Science. With 3D printing scholars will have the opportunity to create things they can see and feel, this will motivate them to want to learn. 3D printing will help scholars explore their studies more interactively with the implementation of 3D printing.
A 3D printer would allow us to create models in STEM skills and do experiments in science, all with using AutoDesk TinkerCAD software.
TinkerCAD software will give students the opportunity to boosts their creativity and knowledge of technology.
A 3D Model is a great way for scholars to experience 21st-century technology in a physical form and the satisfaction of holding a model that YOU created in your hands.
