Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My high school Precalculus and Calculus students amaze me every day with their perseverance, curiosity, and willingness to tackle challenging concepts. They are learning to think critically, make connections between abstract ideas and real-world applications, and develop the confidence to solve complex problems.

I strive to create a classroom where students feel supported, engaged, and excited to learn.

The resources in this project will help me build an environment that is organized, welcoming, and focused on student success. Items such as printer paper, colored paper, dry-erase markers, cleaning cloths, and wall-mounted whiteboard paper will allow students to interact with mathematics in meaningful ways through notes, practice activities, mastery checks, and collaborative problem-solving.

The magnetic coordinate plane will make it easier for students to visualize functions, transformations, and other key concepts that are foundational to success in advanced mathematics. Classroom supplies such as tape refills, bulletin board materials, borders, letters, and decorative items will help transform the classroom into an inviting space where student work, learning targets, and mathematical thinking can be celebrated and displayed. A thoughtfully designed environment helps students feel a sense of belonging and encourages them to take ownership of their learning.

In addition, tissues, hand sanitizer, and snacks will help meet students' basic needs so they can remain focused throughout the school day. Many students arrive with long schedules and busy lives, and having access to simple comforts can make a meaningful difference in their ability to concentrate and participate. Together, these resources will support both the academic and personal well-being of my students, creating a classroom where they can learn, collaborate, and reach their full potential in Precalculus and Calculus.
