Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a dedicated FIRST Robotics team based in the South Bronx, competing annually in both the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Our students come from historically marginalized backgrounds, and our program serves as a critical bridge, providing essential skills and pathways to careers in STEM.

Every competition year brings a new challenge and a new identity.

Our custom designed team apparel (t-shirts and hoodies) is far more than just clothing; it is a visual symbol of unity, pride, and belonging on the national competition floor. When our students step onto the field, wearing a shirt they designed, they stand taller, compete with greater confidence, and represent their community with distinction.

Crucially, the process of creating these shirts is a tangible learning experience. Students are hands-on in conceptualizing the design, adapting it to the annual theme, and customizing it with unique graphics and their names. This project provides invaluable career connections to the professional worlds of graphic design, branding, fashion, and advertisement. It bridges their technical robotics expertise with vital creative and marketing skills.

By supporting our team apparel, you are not just funding clothing you are fueling student morale, ensuring equitable participation, and providing a hands on masterclass in real world design and industry connection.
