My Project

This project will teach students about wellness and taking care of others as they distribute wellness packs to students who are feeling unwell. Students will create packs of snacks, health items, and hygiene items as they determine which of these would be best for each person. Snacks will help people concentrate on learning and work tasks instead of hunger and health items will help them concentrate on getting well (flus, colds, viruses, etc.), personal hygiene items can help a person feel refreshed when feeling unwell, and cleaning/disinfecting supplies will help to keep germs from spreading and the nice scents can help people feel well because the area smells refreshed.

Helping others can also add an incentive to come to class and school.

Deodorant, lip balm, and lotion will help students refresh during an illness. Students will distribute disinfectant wipes, tissues, nitrile gloves, hand sanitizer, cleaning cloths, and disinfectant sprays that will give recipients an opportunity to keep their areas clean and germ free to help prevent sickness. The totes will be used to contain the goodies to help someone feel better.

Student learning outcomes will include: building empathy, choosing beneficial products to fill a need, interacting with students, and organizing.

This relates to the monthly mission because it is helping people on campus to feel better when under the weather, which helps build school spirit and morale, and contributes to overall wellness on campus.

My classes will be helping others who are sick and in need. Students will be learning about health and wellness and will be able to share this across our school community.
