Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My mathletes come from various backgrounds and work together in a math family environment in the classroom. They push each other with various challenges through tough tasks and rigorous challenges. Each student sets proficient or higher goals to become successful in the math world. They not only hold themselves but their classmates accountable to try their best and have fun doing it.

My students love competition in the classroom and throughout the school, so they get motivated to earn their title for top math class or top math student for each quarter of the year.

I like to bring real-world events to relate each standard to things the students are interested in: sports, movies, music, and of course dancing.

My Project

Students will be using led penlights to solve math mysteries. They will think outside the box with spinners to look at the chances of things happening. There will also be music during transitions and team building.

These students are learning to build a community and culture in the classroom and being able to use team-building and rally coach activities will set the example with the tools needed.

Take turns, debate answers, and explain with reasoning using what they know or how to find it accurately.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
