My Students

Children are curious about every subject on earth. How many presidents had wooden teeth? What is a stem cell? Who was Coco Chanel? It's hard to answer every question. A document camera will help me answer questions quickly.

This is a title-one, public school.

Many of my students are learning English, and need pictures to understand vocabulary. They are funny, inquisitive, and hard working. Our school, like most, are struggling with funding. They deserve the best regardless of money. A document camera will allow me to help them understand new concepts.

My Project

When I want to show them something it's difficult. We do not have a computer lab, and so it's hard for us all to see a specific image. Now when I want to show them something we crowd around 1 small computer, or look at black and white overhead transparencies. This camera will allow me to use any book, picture, artist, or graph in full color. This will dramatically improve comprehension. It will also allow me to help kids instead of spending time in the copy room.

These are wonderful kids who will love this technology. Less advantaged kids often don't have access to tools they will need in the future. They can't understand completely without pictures. Ask anyone who has ever learned a new language.
