Desperately Seeking Materials For Young Learners

My students need 9 listening center materials, including books, cd's, and headphones. They also need a new center that would include a building bricks table.

My Students

My students would love to have new books for their listening center. Right now they only have about 3 different books to choose from. They would also love the building bricks table to have as a center.

My students are 3 and 4 years old and they all live in low-income housing.

Some of them live in foster care and some of them even live in shelters. This is the first school experience for many of my students. Because we are a public school, we do not get much funding from the city to purchase new toys and materials. A lot of the materials we have are extremely old and are either broken or are in the process of breaking. We would absolutely love to get these new materials!

My Project

These resources will improve my students pre-k experience on a daily basis. I would add the building bricks table along with the building bricks as a new center for them to play and interact in. They absolutely love the stories that would come and they would be able to use it in the listening center. Right now they only have about 3 titles to choose from. I know how excited my students would be if these materials were available in the classroom.

I teach the youngest learners in our school.

This is the first school experience that these children have. Right now they absolutely love school. However, many of the materials we have in the classroom are extremely old and are becoming almost impossible to use. We are a public school and we do not have the resources to replace many of the broken items. I really hope the donors see this project as a worthwhile project to fund. I know my students would absolutely love the new materials!
