My Students

Students in the first grade need to read a variety of books at the right level every day to make appropriate progress. Reading the same book every day gets redundant and when students lose interest, work completion can go dwindle.

These students come from high poverty and most will only use books provided by the school.

Some are from the refugee center, and some are even from the homeless shelter. Because of these challenges we need to be extra sure they get everything they need to acquire literacy skills. If they achieve these skills early, it will affect future success in all subjects.

My Project

This library of leveled readers has a variety of books at each level. It comes with bins and labels to keep everything in order and makes assigning and checking out simple and organized. As students finish one level accurately, they are able to move up to the next level with ease.

It is essential that students begin reading with high interest and success to ensure future achievement. Make a difference for these deserving students.
