Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a third grade teacher to 24 eager and curious students. I teach at a school with a large population of English Language Learners and a high need community.

The students that I am teaching today are all the kids born in the year 2000 or shortly after that. The generation of kids I am teaching have never known what a record player, typewriter, or cassette tapes were. These kids are use to fast pace and instant response.

I am always trying to keep up with these Millennium babies with technology. I want to continue to engage my students with technology that they will need to be accustomed to. I think an ipod touch is a technology that can be incorporated in the classroom in many different ways. An ipod touch can be used for reading and listening to literature, flashcard, writing, and spelling applications.

I want to give my students the opportunity to have technology in the classroom for a variety of learning techniques. I believe the up coming technology in the classroom has to be available to the students to keep up with these Millennium babies.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
