My students need 1 complete starter set of building blocks, community buildings (includes 8 store front buildings), community garages(includes 8 buildings), 8 cars, community signs, such as a stop sign etc., and a complete set of alphabet and number blocks.

I teach 22 four and five year olds in a title one urban school with a growing number of Hispanic children and families.

Do you remember growing up and building with blocks? Many children do not get to experience building with blocks due to the lack of support in the home. Children need to have the opportunity to build with blocks. Building with blocks helps children's large motor, fine motor, hand to eye coordination, imagination, and much more. With the growing economic hardships in our schools the money for these materials are not available.

My students need a complete set of starter building blocks, where the children can build cities, houses, farms, or just about whatever their imagination will lead them. My students would also benefit from a community building set, a community garage set with cars, and community signs. With these items the children can expand their learning during our community helpers unit. They can build a whole city, and with cars park them in garages of different buildings around our cities. These materials will also help the children build their communication skills with their peers, build teamwork and strength learning through play.

Your donation will help purchase these needed building supplies to help build children's success in the classroom and fuel their imaginations. Just remember how much fun you had building, Maybe someday my students will help "build" our future.
