Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach high school Biology in a high needs community. My students are participating in a program with the local water company to create a service learning project. Our service learning project will involve our students teaching a group of elementary students about water conservation issues.

Our students are having problems being successful in math and science, however, there just aren't enough funds provided to the teachers to give the students a quality hands- on education.

In order to complete a portion of our earth day project, we will need materials for our event. My students need 4 stereomicroscopes to complete their Earth Day project. The students will be using the materials to teach elementary school children the value of water conservation.

Your help will ensure that my students complete their project for our local Water Company, and it will make it possible for my students to teach elementary students at our earth day event.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
