Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have been an elementary art teacher for the last 12 years at the same school. I started my career here and now I even have one child myself who also attends. I love everything about this place. I love my students and I love being an art teacher. Like most art programs in any public school it is a struggle to get the supplies you need, much less resources.

Due to a large social/economically challenged population, most students at my school do not get the opportunity to experience a variety of art or cultural activities outside of their school setting. This art resource library will open their minds to the world around them.

It just isn't enough to have the kids do an art piece. The stories and illustrations in these books help young children connect and then it becomes much more meaningful and powerful to them. This resource library will be treasured by the students of this school for many years.

With your help it will open up a whole world of experiences right at their fingertips. In this day and time our children need that global experience to help relate in our current world. With each of these experiences it opens up more possibilities for their future. A future that has been facilitated by you.
