I am teaching in a self-contained Special Education classroom in an urban setting. I teach U.S. History, World History, and American Government.

My students come from low income homes. Our district's budget is overextended. Getting my students to come to school on a daily basis is difficult. My students love it when I use technology in the classroom. My attendance seems to increase when this method is utilized.

I am asking for an LCD projector. This will enable me to use my lap top to teach lessons and show video clips on a big screen. I am currently using a small, old TV that is not computer compatible. I am also asking for 2 atlases because I have 6 outdated atlases at this time. Finally, I need a pencil sharpener in my room because currently the students have to leave my room, losing precious teaching time every time they need a pencil sharpened.

By donating these items, my students and my classroom will be empowered. The students need to learn as well as experience current technology.
