Many of our students do not have a good breakfast in the morning and/or a mid-morning snack. Several students expressed gratitude right away, while others quietly shared how much it meant to them to not feel hungry during the school day. For some, this was the first time they had consistent access to a small snack at school, and that consistency has made a difference in their confidence and participation. One student mentioned that it helped them \"think better,\" which was a simple but powerful reflection of the impact. The sense of community has also grown—students are respectful of the shared resources and even remind one another about expectations and fairness. It has created an atmosphere where students feel supported not just academically, but personally.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to integrate the snack resources into our daily routines in a way that maximizes instructional time while meeting student needs. As we move into our next classroom project—a collaborative research and presentation unit—students will be working in small groups to explore topics, gather information, and present their findings. Having access to snacks during longer work periods will help sustain their energy and focus, especially during group collaboration and critical thinking tasks. We are also using this opportunity to build responsibility by involving students in organizing and distributing snacks in a fair and structured way. Ultimately, these resources are helping to create a more equitable learning environment, and we are excited to continue building on this foundation as students grow academically and socially.","fullyFundedDate":1778003540652,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-a-strong-end-to-the-year/10242835/","projectTitle":"Snacks for a Strong End to the Year","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Milow","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9125925_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y484&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1704722625863","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/missmilow"},{"teacherId":4132191,"projectId":9691463,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our project, **\"STEM for All: Accessible Innovation in the Classroom.\"** Your generosity has opened the door for hands-on learning experiences that allow all of our students to actively explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students were eager to explore the tools and began asking questions right away about what they could create. It was inspiring to watch students collaborate, test their ideas, and make improvements as they learned from both successes and challenges.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom has become a space where curiosity and innovation are encouraged. Many of our students come to school hungry or begin to lose energy as the day goes on. The snack packs have helped them stay focused, calm, and ready to learn. We have placed the snacks in a designated area so students can quietly grab one when they need it. This small act has helped remove distractions caused by hunger and has supported students' emotional regulation throughout the day.\r\nWe are also using the snack packs as part of our conversations about **self-care and mental health**. Students are learning that taking care of their bodies—through food, rest, and positive habits—helps support their minds as well. It has opened the door for meaningful discussions about wellness and responsibility.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue incorporating these resources into our daily classroom routine.
