I am seeking funding to assist in covering the cost to attend the 2020 American School Counseling Association Conference in Seattle this summer. My district does not have the funds to assist me with this professional development. This amazing conference allows me to join approximately 3,600 school counseling professionals for 4 days of inspirational keynote sessions, informative breakout sessions, in-depth looks at hot topics in the school counseling profession and networking opportunities. This conference will help me grow as a professional and a leader for my students. As the lead counselor at my school and also a director of operations for my state school counseling organization, I try to advocate for my students and school counselors everyday. Attending conferences such as this gives me tools to do this.
