Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach eighth graders in an inner city school. Many parents do not speak english and do not have extra money for school supplies.

This year my students wrote non-fiction and fiction picture books on different rites of passage. They went out of their comfort zone and learned about other cultures. Next year, I would like to have these "books" look like real books and not have them on construction paper.

This is why I am requesting the bound books and other supplies needed to have my students create lasting picture books.

Thank you for supporting this project and I look forward to my students creating amazing projects that they will be proud to share with others.
