I teach Basic English in two different levels to students with special needs. My focus of my curriculum is real life English. I want the students to be able to see that what I am teaching them, is valuable to their future and their everyday lives.

My students need to be given "an outlet". Part of my class curriculum is discussing, reading, and completing activities with the Freedom Writers Journals. I want to be able to give my students their own personal journals to record their feelings, hopes and dreams.

By your generous donation of 50-60 personal journals, my students will be given a tool to use in the classroom as an outlet to their feelings. By teaching students to use journaling, I will be teaching the students a life long skill to help them deal with their feelings and emotions.

You can help to give my special needs students the valuable tool of journaling to help them deal with thier frustrations and emotions by providing them with thier own personal journals that they can take ownership of and be proud of.
