Little Aviators

My students need an Elmo at this time. This will help students better understand concepts and procedures they will master in science and aviation. This is because they will visually be able to follow step by step procedures when building models and learning aviation concepts.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Rising to challenges, my students love to come to my aviation classes. Here we learn about aviation history, the characteristics of flight, and work with a real flight simulator. The students range from 3rd through 5th grade. I am a certified flight instructor, but I mainly work with kids who are struggling with reading and math. We do activities that require teacher demonstrations. An Elmo helps to accomplish this task.

Many times it is difficult to demonstrate to students how to do things in a way they can all see well. With an Elmo, I will be able to make sure all students will be able to what is being demonstrated and taught.

The Elmo will solve the problem of enabling all students to see demonstrations, and other materials well during discussions and lessons.

You will make it possible for my students to better follow along as we build model airplanes, and rockets. At the same time they will be learning about aviation. They will develop better fine motor skills and strengthen their ability to create. They will learn about jobs in science and engineering through these lessons.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
