My students can't afford even the most basic calculator, they have to share the very few that we have. We need 47 scientific calculators.

I teach in an inclusion math class, 10th - 12th graders. Many of these students are repeating the class, some for the third time. Inclusion is a teaching model that mainstreams students with Exceptional Needs in with the general population. There are two teachers in the room, while my main goal is to help the EC student I am there for all the students. We re located in a high need area of the district, there are 27 students in the class.

Our students don't have the calculators needed to be successful. We are a high need school located in North Carolina. Our students share 4 calculators between 22 children. That is not a solution for success.

If every student had a calculator we could increase instruction time, and the knowledge that our students are gaining. With the calculators you provide our students won't have to share, which will eliminate disruption and increase their learning time.

We as teachers can focus on the teaching part and not who is in line to use the calculator. Thank you for considering this proposal.
