Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Help Wanted! I am a special education teacher and I have a class that needs your help! They are a challenging group of 5th and 6th graders with a wide range of disabilities. My students are with me for most of the school day for all core subjects. My students come from low income families and have no access to a computer at home.

My 5th and 6th graders love to learn but have a great deal of difficulty in school due to the severity of their disabilities. A computer in our classroom would open up the world for them. A computer would give them the opportunity to complete written assignments, conduct research, and practice the skills they need.

A computer and a monitor would be a great asset to my classroom. It would help enrich the lives of my students who are frustrated at school because reading is so difficult for them. A computer would allow them the opportunity to learn in a way that will help motivate them to continue their education.

This is your opportunity to motivate my students! They have so much potential but learning is difficult for them. Just think about the difference you can make in the lives of students with disabilities!
