  • Help Us Grow More Food!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

How thrilled my gifted students were when they were able to have their class 'snack'...not the regular crackers and juice, but SALAD! And not just any salad: salad they grew themselves in the classroom. This group worked together to read directions, assemble, and go through the entire process of starting a hydroponic garden while I sat back and graded papers. Two - three days a week they would pop in to see if there needs to be any water added. (I admit: I did the 'vitamins', since the bottles did say keep out of reach of children! But everything else was done by 7-10 year old students.)

You did this: your donations helped about 40 students with their first gardening experience! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cundiff

  • Discovering the World From Our Classroom

    Funded Jul 27, 2021

I need to lower my maps! I created this project knowing we have a unit about maps, and I need to replace my roller map (that must have been 50 years old!) I got these, and my students are constantly checking them out! As we read a story, they suddenly are having a race to see who can find it on the map first! As we talk about the weather and different climates and phenomenon, the race is on again! My poor students are stretching to reach some exotic spots!

This is something that you did by helping set my classroom up for students returning from quarantine. They are so happy to be back, and now they are becoming a part of the wide world!

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cundiff

  • Setting Up for the New School Year!

    Funded May 4, 2021

It's been a tough year, but when my students came back into the classroom, they were overjoyed to see their new supplies waiting for them!

Thank you for your generosity. Our students are learning the feeling that someone cares, and I hope in the future will be able to pay it forward and give others that same feeling! Fresh crayons, sharpened pencils, notebooks and funky erasers are things that my students treasure. They know that these supplies were donated, and have done an amazing job taking care of them!

Thank you for helping our students get a great start in their education.”

  • If They Have the Tools, Then They Will Succeed!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you so much for your wonderful donation to my classroom. Although we didn't get a chance to use them much when we first got them, my students this year are constantly begging to look at things under the microscope.

The excitement they have with a new discovery is catching, and they are sharing and exploring all of the time. Several have been doing some extra research. A few have discovered they like to draw what they are seeing on the slides (kind of spooky for some of their drawings!)

These are simple microscopes, but thanks to your donation, I think we have some future research scientists being developed!

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cundiff

  • Mute Yourself on Zoom

    Funded Feb 17, 2021

Late, but the cameras are still being used. As soon as our webcams came into the building, they were put to use by our teachers. Our desktops don't have camera capability, so these cameras allowed our teachers to access trainings, visit with families for conferencing, and have some face-to-fact time with our students.

Several of us used a webcam to attend a professional development that was being given at another campus. this allowed us to stay safely in our classrooms without traveling to another location: something that benefitted so many of us!

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cundiff

  • Let's Get Out of Our Desks!

    Funded Feb 22, 2022

My students are so excited! Whenever they have work that they can do away from their desks (reading, collaborating on a project, learning from task cards) they are now flopping down on the floor with their friends! (I've never had so many reading minutes logged as I've gotten in the one week our new rug hit the floor!)

With the only classroom in the building without carpeting (a former art room that happens to have an amazing size!) my students could only share on the tile floor...and not that comfy! Now they have a new rug...and pillows to go with it! What joy!

Thank you for your wonderful contribution to my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cundiff

  • Let's Get Ready to Rumble and Read!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you for helping my students create book clubs in our classroom. They are having so much fun working together: reading, creating activities to illustrate what they have been reading, and looking forward to their next book!

Reading is such an important part of the student's education. Although our book club members are all higher readers, they have become an inspiration to other students. Students who often struggle with reading have been choosing a book to read with a friend. Together they are discovering new genres and finding the joy others already knew: the world is open to them when they read a book.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cundiff

  • Help Us Grow (Our Own Food!)

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for helping my more gifted students create the beginnings of a school garden! They did the research. They read the directions for putting our planting systems together, and collaborated on the work. They planted their seeds and have been watching them faithfully. It's been slow (we don't know why) but they kids are starting to record some real growth! We won't be feeding the whole school, but our little bit of lettuce will be spread out to many! It's been a learning experience, and they are already planning and figuring out what went wrong (as well as what went right), and what they are going to do next fall when we can start again. Thank you for giving our students such a great learning experience!”

    With gratitude,

  • Individual Supplies for a New School Year

    Funded Jul 17, 2020

It's been a couple of tough years, but with your help we still had a lot of smiles! When my students look at each other, they can't see the impact that our Covid-time has had on each other: we wear uniforms, everyone is neat and clean, we have plenty of food to go around (free breakfasts and lunches!)

What they can't see is what happens when everyone goes home: who lost a job or which families are struggling to survive.

By supplying all of my students equally, no one is left behind. Your donation for classroom supplies put everyone on equal footing: they all have the same materials to get through their day, from pencils and pouches to folders and notebooks.

Thank you for helping all of my students.”

  • Brains, Bodies and a Little Bit of Magic

    Funded Jan 31, 2022

What an amazing opportunity you have provided our students! We now have enough manipulatives for our entire class: and just in time for our fractions unit to begin! My kids dove right in, and with a little patience they discovered how different fractions can make a whole!

We also received some books about magic. Our after-school gifted program is benefitting from bringing a little magic into everyone's lives: not just silly little tricks, but, as one boy said "the real thing!" They have each taken 1-2 illusions to master, keeping some suspense hidden from each other. They are becoming adept at legerdemain!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cundiff
