"It's A Wonderful World"
Funded Aug 21, 2015My fourth grade students would like to thank you again for your wonderful donations. We have a parent that comes to visit us to give basic piano lessons, along with rhythm lessons, and of course, playing our recorders. The cacophony is wonderful as we begin to hear music being produced.
In place of pictures of our students playing, we would like to share a video of our young musicians. At the last minute we took the recorders out of our holiday program, but the 2nd song features a young man who had been playing for a matter of weeks before he attempted playing our holiday song (with the help of his mother, our wonderful parent-helper!) The students began learning this song, "Peaceful", soon after the Paris bombing. Although this did not touch them personally, many of our staff were. As they joined our class as an audience, many left in tears, talking of innocent voices wishing for peace. Many of the songs performed at our holiday program were fun, where ours had a silent audience and more tears. The song is called "Peaceful", by Theresa Jennings.
Thank you again for your wonderful donation. Our students lives are forever changed by your thoughtfulness!

Adding Technology To Our Classroom
Funded Feb 12, 2015I just want to thank you again and again! My students have been working so hard to earn the right to use the iPads. Because there are only 2, I use them as a center, with students rotating in for their choice. They are no longer dawdling over their assignments, and working even harder to make sure they are corrected before they get their center time. Although I have seen an increase in some of their skills, what has me the most excited is that they are starting to take responsibility for their work! I haven't had a missed homework assignment in almost a month now!
Thank you again for your thoughtful donation to Donor's Choose!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cundiff
