My Students

Do you remember the fear you had talking in front of the class? I am trying to alleviate that fear by giving them positive experiences with speaking in front of groups. This way they can see how great they did, what they need to work on, and parents have something to see at Open House.

I teach in a middle to upper middle class area.

Most parents work full time. I have a few that are ELL and one that is special needs. I am going from 20 students to 26 students this year. My parents are asked to give a lot for the school and I feel bad having to ask for a Flip camera from them. They are supportive but as with everyone else, they are being hit by the economy. I ask that you help me in providing a fun, educational way to learn a lifelong lesson of pubic speaking. This is my 11th year teaching and love every minute of it. Thank you for your help.

My Project

My students do oral reports on Penguins, write their own fairy tales, and do book reports. This will a great way for students to see and critique their own work. Students will learn to enunciate, project their voices, and be able to show parents a final project. This is also a tool to be used on field trips and other special assemblies.

Everyone has a fear of public speaking but if I can make students feel comfortable at an early age, think about how much easier it will be for them to speak publicly as they get older.

I know a tool like a video camera would have helped me greatly.
