I am a Kindergarten teacher with 15 students in my class. We are located in a urban school and have a multicultural classroom with diverse socio-economical backgrounds. I was a last-minute hire at my school to accommodate recent influx in the student population. My current classroom is assembled with old and out-dated furniture. Our wooden easel is too high and unsafe for many of my students to use. It is difficult to store pocket charts, chart paper, and other classroom materials. It is awkward and inconvenient to move the easel to different learning centers, so as a result we often skip some learning opportunities. An easel on wheels with storage is the appropriate height for my students to work on when reading and writing. We will be able to utilize the storage bins to store our materials. When needed we can quickly move the easel to and from different learning centers. Your help will ensure that my students can successfully work at the easel. You will make it possible for my students to independently have access to our classroom materials. My students will become more self-sufficient and boost their confidence.
