My Project

Every child deserves a place where reading feels inviting, comfortable, and exciting. I am requesting funding for a rolling chair, a student reading chair, floor cushions, and a reading rug to transform a corner of our elementary media center into a welcoming reading space where students can gather for read-alouds, independent reading, and small-group instruction.

At our elementary school, our media center serves hundreds of students each week, including many military-connected children and students from economically disadvantaged families.

Creating a cozy, flexible reading environment will encourage students to build positive reading habits and see the library as a place where they belong.

Our media center welcomes students from kindergarten through fifth grade every week. Many of our students thrive when they have inviting spaces that encourage them to slow down, relax, and immerse themselves in a story.

Research shows that students who enjoy reading are more likely to become lifelong readers. A cozy reading corner helps create positive associations with books and encourages students to spend more time reading.

This project is more than furniture—it is an investment in creating a library where children feel excited to read.

Every story shared on the rug, every student curled up with a favorite book, and every read-aloud from the swivel chair will help build a stronger culture of literacy within our Cardinal family.

Your generosity will help create a space where students feel safe, welcomed, and inspired to become lifelong readers.
