My Project

We are requesting 6 iPads to launch a student-led mobile journalism and broadcast program at BCS. This initiative transitions traditional classroom learning into an active media lab by deploying a fleet of six mobile video recording kits alongside a dedicated classroom studio anchor desk. Students will collaborate to pitch, record, edit, and distribute weekly school broadcasts using school-safe software ecosystem workflows (iMovie).

This program targets critical 21st-century skills: communication, digital media literacy, collaborative video editing, and public speaking.

The success of this media program will be measured quantitatively by the production of 16 weekly news broadcasts per semester and qualitatively by tracking student growth in technical editing competency and public speaking confidence. These iPads will remain perfectly functional for multiple subsequent classes, ensuring long-term sustainability without requiring recurring programmatic funding each year.
