Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is filled with resilient, hardworking students who come to school each day ready to learn despite the challenges many face outside the classroom. My co-teacher and I work in a Title I school, with English learners, students with disabilities receiving push-in special education services, and students with anxiety, ADHD, or sensory needs. Although their learning styles and backgrounds are different, they all share one goal: they want to succeed. Our job is to create an environment where every student has the support they need to stay focused, participate confidently, and reach their full potential.

This project will help transform our classroom into a flexible, calming space that supports learning for every child.

Wobble stools provide a quiet way for students to move while they learn, improving focus during reading, writing, and state testing. Student whiteboards, as well as a double-sided mobile whiteboard, allow instruction to move where students need it most, making small-group lessons and visual modeling more accessible. Headphones give students a distraction-free environment while providing access to read-aloud supports, language tools, and testing accommodations. Ceiling light covers soften harsh fluorescent lighting and display encouraging messages that help reduce stress and create a welcoming atmosphere.

These resources are about far more than comfort—they're about equity, access, and opportunity. Every item helps remove barriers that can interfere with learning so students can demonstrate what they truly know and can do. With your support, my classroom will become a place where movement is welcomed, focus is encouraged, and every learner feels empowered to take risks, build confidence, and succeed.
