Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All of my students receive special education services and have unique learning, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs. Many benefit from hands-on support and positive reinforcement to help them remain focused, regulate their emotions, and successfully participate in classroom activities.

The sensory fidgets, stress balls, stretchy toys, and other calming tools in this project will provide students with appropriate ways to meet their sensory needs while staying engaged in learning.

These tools help students manage frustration, reduce anxiety, and improve attention during instruction.

The classroom rewards and incentives will be used as part of a structured positive behavior support system. Students will earn rewards for demonstrating skills such as following directions, using coping strategies, completing tasks, showing kindness, and making positive choices. These incentives help build confidence, motivation, and a sense of accomplishment.

My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels successful and supported. By providing sensory tools and meaningful rewards, I can help my students develop self-regulation skills, strengthen positive behaviors, and increase their engagement in learning. These resources will have a lasting impact on both their academic growth and social-emotional development throughout the school year.
