Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My STEM students have embraced physical computing in an incredible way. As they continue working with micro:bits, their curiosity has grown—especially when it comes to using sensors to interact with the real world. To build on this excitement, I’m seeking additional sensor kits so all of my students can continue exploring and creating at a deeper level.

Sensors open the door to meaningful, real-world applications.

With these kits, students can design projects that detect motion, measure distance, respond to light, or monitor environmental changes. These experiences help students see how technology can be used to solve problems and make sense of the world around them.

As more students become confident creators, the demand for sensor components has quickly outpaced our current supply. Additional kits will ensure that every student has the opportunity to fully participate, experiment, and iterate on their designs without limitations.

Your support will help my students continue their journey from learning about technology to actively building and innovating with it. With these tools, they’re not just completing projects—they’re developing the skills and mindset of future engineers, creators, and problem-solvers.
