My Project

Welcome to our amazing 1st grade classroom! My students are an amazing, diverse group of sweet, energetic kids who come to school every morning ready to move and learn. We love celebrating all of our unique backgrounds and languages every day. My biggest goal is keeping our room a happy, safe space where every single child feels loved and included. We laugh a lot, learn a lot, and work hard on being kind, supportive friends both in the classroom and out on the playground!

I want to expand our PE equipment with an awesome collection of youth basketballs, segmented jump ropes, and colorful target beanbags to help my students build up their physical coordination.

First grade is a huge milestone year for learning how to jump, catch, and work together as a team during playground games. These specific items will make a massive difference by giving my kids active, hands-on ways to build up their physical confidence and burn off some energy.

The loud "clicking" sound of these weighted, beaded jump ropes gives the kids a perfect rhythm cue so they know exactly when to jump, while the lightweight beanbags and smaller youth-sized basketballs are perfect for tiny hands to practice catching and dribbling without getting frustrated. Instead of getting discouraged by heavy, larger-sized recess gear, these balls will help my students learn how to throw, play independently, and make sure every single classmate feels included. Your donation gives these sweet kids the exact equipment they need to stay active, play hard, and become happy, healthy learners during PE.
