My Project

Our school is getting a much-needed new playground this summer. It has so many new features for climbing, creative play, and friendly competition. There is a new basketball hoop, soccer field, 4-square court, and even a GaGa pit. However, kids need equipment to use those features. This project has all the balls, goals, and even safety equipment to help staff ensure games are successful, fun, and inclusive for all.

Our Community School is Maine's most ethnically diverse school. The school's amazing international student body represents more than 30 nationalities! Within the school, 50% of the 420 students are English Language Learners, and almost 75% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Our diversity is seen as an asset as we capitalize upon our knowledge and build on our strengths. Integrating dedicated sports equipment into a new school playground transforms basic open space into a dynamic hub that elevates physical fitness, teamwork, and inclusive social connection among students.
