My Project

In our STEAM room I love to allow students to have freedom (as I can allow of course!) So, having some flexible seating options for students when we are working would allow for students to spread out as they are working independently on projects, activities, and assignments. Many students need that flexibility to work without distraction, which can help the flow of our classroom learning experience.

Overall, my goal is to have a more inclusive space within my classroom where students feel they have choice and say in their learning, even if that means just allowing them to choose where they sit.

I am requesting a new rug, stools, and seat cushions.

Here at WES, we are a Title I School, meaning that many of our students come from lower-income families. Because of this, we often see students seeking our school and classrooms as their safe spaces, where people care about them, beyond just their learning, and they learn to express themselves.
