My Project

Help Our Students Discover What They’re Capable Of!

What if a student who struggles in a traditional classroom could discover they are an amazing problem-solver, entrepreneur, engineer, gardener, designer, or future employee?

That is what we are creating in our PAES/Career-Centered classroom at Carson Valley Middle School. Our students thrive through hands-on experiences where they can build, explore, make mistakes, try again, and develop skills for school, work, and life.

We are seeking materials to make career exploration meaningful and real.

Our PAES Store gives students authentic opportunities to practice customer service, communication, money management, stocking, organization, inventory, teamwork, and responsibility. Snacks and store supplies will allow students to practice pricing, purchasing, and managing products in a real-world setting.

Robotics and engineering materials will help students design, build, troubleshoot, collaborate, and develop perseverance while exploring STEM careers.

Career exploration and life-skills resources will help students learn about occupations, workplace expectations, decision-making, independence, communication, and teamwork.

Hydroponics supplies will allow students to explore plant science, sustainability, agriculture, technology, measurement, and responsibility while growing something of their own.

Poster materials and technology will support research, creativity, presentations, digital literacy, and communication.

For some students, school has often felt like a place where they are told what they cannot do. We want our classroom to be a place where they discover what they can do.
