My Project

We're looking for support to provide a classroom rug that will be the heart of our learning environment. In our early childhood classroom, the rug is more than just a place to sit—it is where we gather for read-alouds, morning meetings, phonemic awareness activities, and meaningful conversations that build community and belonging.

This rug will directly improve student learning by creating a defined, comfortable space where children can focus, engage, and actively participate in whole-group instruction.

It supports social-emotional development by giving students a shared space to practice turn-taking, listening, and expressing their ideas. A soft, welcoming rug also ensures physical comfort, which is essential for young learners to remain attentive and regulated throughout lessons.

Our goal for this project is to create a warm, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. We aim to strengthen community-building experiences, increase student engagement during instruction, and support development across literacy, language, and social-emotional domains.

Our students are incredibly special—they are curious, expressive, and full of joy. They come from diverse cultural backgrounds and bring unique identities, voices, and experiences into our classroom each day. We intentionally create opportunities for them to explore who they are, celebrate their differences, and learn from one another. This rug will help us continue building a classroom where every child is seen, heard, and empowered to thrive.
