My Project

These small motivational items will help my Algebra students stay engaged and continue thinking, even during downtime in the classroom.

My freshman Algebra students are much more consistent note-takers when they have a fun, dedicated notebook used specifically for their Algebra work.

Additionally, since phones are no longer allowed in classrooms, students are relearning how to interact with one another during the moments when they are not actively working on Algebra. Activities such as playing cards and building jigsaw puzzles provide students with a relaxing opportunity to socialize and take a mental break while still engaging their minds. These activities encourage students to use problem-solving, reasoning, communication, and critical-thinking skills rather than simply zoning out or turning to their phones.
