We appreciate you and our kids are overjoyed to see the kind and generous donations from people who have never met them! This project added 11,750 Lego, 790 Duplo Lego, and 40 Lego Figures to our collection. Our kids are now able to build bigger and better projects. And some of our more advanced builders, no longer have to tear their projects down at the end of every class and start new the next class. \r\n\r\nOur Duplo builders can now build with a bigger selection of Duplo Lego. They can also expand their creativity and build with more detail because they now have Duplo windows, cars, and people to add to their storyline. Our car builders now have 1800 pieces to create with. From airplanes to transformer vehicles, they're letting their imagination run wild. I use Lego for a one-on-one with some of our lower students who have speech challenges. This allows them a safe space to improve their verbal communication skills. Whereas previously it was quite the task to get them to say anything, now they're eager to try to tell me about their amazing build or at least ask for help with bringing their build to life. Though this might not seem like much to most, for a kid that never talks to now be talking and sharing, it's big! For a child that always chooses to sit with me or alone to now be sitting with their peers because they feel a sense of belonging and empowerment through their creative ability, it's huge! \r\n\r\nLego building creates endless opportunities for children to develop socially and emotionally and that can add to their overall school and community success. So know that your donation is working every day to help over 200 kids in grades K4-8 to practice and develop healthy social and emotional skills, and problem-solving skills while exploring their creativity. It's amazing to see and be a part of! So thank you again for your generous donations.
