In this lesson, elementary students connected their understanding of the frog life cycle to a physical pathway, coding the Tale-Bot to move from one stage to the next. This not only reinforced science content, but also strengthened sequencing, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. The involvement of junior high students added another layer of learning, as they modeled coding skills and guided younger students, creating a meaningful peer-teaching experience that benefited both age groups.\r\n\r\nWhat about the new product is most exciting to your students?\r\nStudents are especially excited about the interactive and playful nature of the Tale-Bots. Being able to physically control and \"teach\" the robot where to go makes learning feel like a game while still being purposeful. The immediate feedback—seeing whether their code works or needs adjusting—keeps them engaged and motivated to try again. They also love collaborating across grade levels, which makes the experience feel special and different from a typical classroom activity.\r\n\r\nAre there particular students who have especially warmed to this new technology, and how so?\r\nYes, several students have really connected with this technology. Some of my more hands-on learners and those who may struggle with traditional instruction have shown increased confidence and participation when using the Tale-Bots. They thrive in the trial-and-error environment and enjoy the opportunity to problem-solve in a low-pressure setting. Additionally, junior high students who may not always take on leadership roles have stepped up as mentors, demonstrating patience, responsibility, and pride as they support the younger students.","fullyFundedDate":1775754094672,"projectUrl":"project/from-little-learner-to-future-leaders-i/10033516/","projectTitle":"From Little Learner to Future Leaders: Inspiring Through STEM Mentorship","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCauley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10088993_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753367757698","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10088993"},{"teacherId":7233746,"projectId":9899937,"letterContent":"Again, thank you so much for the bowling balls and pins! \r\n\r\nMy 3-5 students have been loving the bowling activities I have shared with them so far. We have played games like Alphabet Soup, Blackout Bowling, Buzz Beater Bowling, and Race to the Middle. I am doing a mini unit to test out the enjoyment, and plan on a more thorough unit next year! My K-2 students have also been using the equipment to finish off their rolling unit and I can already tell the difference on the outcome of their rolls from just using a gopher ball. \r\n\r\nSo many comments have included; this is so fun, we need to play this when we have a substitute teacher, and I am going bowling for my birthday, this is great practice! Snacks are important in the middle schoolers lifestyle. Even though most of my students have access to breakfast and lunch in our school district snacks keep them fueled through the day. These students are more willing to learn when their bellies are full. \r\nWhen I brought in a variety of new snacks the kids were so excited and thankful. They understand that snacks are not always available but when snacks are available students know that school, practice, and after school enrichment programs will go so much easier. Hunger is hard to combat when you have extra long days. 80% of my middle school students continue their day after the last bell rings. They have practice, music, tutoring, and many also participate in after school enrichment such as art club, chess club, or our sheep project so they are in the school building some days until 5:30. Having access to school snacks keeps them fueled and learning. \r\nWith all our hearts we are so blessed to have you as our donors.
