Students have been thrilled to receive new books in their hands. The box sets provide a great opportunity for students to read and commit to reading a full series. Students are excited to read and love seeing new books in the classroom. This has freshened the current reads in our classroom and has brought a love not just of reading but discussion between students.\r\n \r\nThe most popular books have been \"A Good Girl's Guide to Murder\" by Holly Jackson and \"One of Us is Lying\" by Karen M. McManus. Students have discussed an in-class waitlist for the books that you helped purchase. \r\n\r\nWe have started the year strong with reading goals. Students strive to meet reading goals within a few weeks of school. Some of the reading goals students are working towards are: stamina, rigor, volume, and/ or reading diverse genres. The new books in the classroom have helped students immensely to find books to start working towards their goals. \r\n\r\nIt has also helped students stay in the classroom and use the full 20 minutes of reading every day to put towards their independent reading. Rather than students having to search for copies in the library and use up time, I can offer students the copies almost right away. \r\n\r\nAll in all, I want to thank you all again for your support and help bringing reading to life in my classroom. It brings me joy when I can offer students books that I know they will like.
