At our low-income school, not every student has access to a printer at home, so being able to print pictures from school is something they get really excited about. Whether it's a picture of themselves, a fun classroom activity, or a special moment with a friend, having that picture to keep makes the experience feel a little more special.\r\n\r\nMy students love watching their pictures print and getting to choose which ones they want to keep. It's such a simple thing, but you can see how proud and excited they are when they get to take a picture home. Some of my students who are more quiet, hesitant, or struggle to participate really light up when they know they'll be able to have a picture to remember the activity. It gives us another way to celebrate them, their friendships, and the things they accomplish at school.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these pictures give my students something they can share with the people they love at home. They get to say, \"Look what we did at school!\" and feel proud of themselves. The main character, Keke, had to learn a new language as well as new ways of doing things.\r\n\r\nTheir favorite part was when Keke misunderstands how to use the washing machine.
