It exciting to see the students identify the different god/goddess characters and powers they could play in the game and connecting this with what they had learning in the unit.\r\n\r\nThe students loved how quick the game was the learn but the difficulty in strategy in insure they won. By focusing on inclusive coverage, we ensured every student saw themselves represented, creating a lasting, 80-page legacy that will serve as the official historical record of this school year. \r\n\r\nThe Vel Phillips Middle School yearbook is a one-of-a-kind, tangible artifact that captures the spirit of the school. It is not just a book of photos, but a reflection of the student body's resilience, creativity, and shared experiences, providing a crucial, nostalgic resource for years to come. Students were actively involved in taking the pictures of special events, such as the winter games, which showed the true spirit of Vel Phillips, determination, resilience, and good sportsmanship. \r\n\r\nStudents being able to take the pictures means the world to them. It allowed for more photos to be taken of moments that matter to the students, not the staff! Both of the high schools run a student-led yearbook club, so students can now transfer real-world skills such as photography, graphic design, project management, and leadership skills. Students being able to collaborate on projects will help them in their jobs someday! \r\n\r\nStudents have learned many real-world skills including preparing the news of the school to be shared through knowledgeable journalism. Students have been able to meet their deadlines on their projects. Sales have increased greatly now that the students are spreading the word around school.
